Well this is rather special. Very much giving Belperron vibes (if you don’t know, Suzanne Belperron was an incredible French jeweller, who made beautiful jewels in the 30s and 40s, specialising in the use of carved and cabochon gemstones, and beloved by the Duchess of Windsor).
The bracelet consists of open oval links, interspersed by five chalcedony sugarloaf cabochons of the most beautiful lavender colour. The simple but beautifully made mounts are open on the reverse, to let maximum light pass through the stunningly translucent stones. Although fairly bold, this bracelet is so utterly feminine, and beautifully made, with the links every so slightly curved, so it sits beautifully on the wrist. Quiet details like this are real markers of exquisite workmanship.
From the late Art Deco period, this is a very special jewel, and it has remained in fabulous condition. Blatantly of its 1930s era, it slips seamlessly into modern fashions, the clean, elegant but striking design is as much in vogue today as it was 90 years ago.
