Oh what a dream. The kind of jewel that reminds me why I am in this industry. The word rare gets thrown around a lot with jewellery, but that’s what this is, especially in this condition. It’s as if it has turquoise been carefully preserved in a drawer all this time.
A small hinged locket of rock crystal is bordered by pearls accented with tiny turquoise cabochons. The pearls are so lustrous and creamy, and the bright robin egg blue turquoise are incredibly well matched for a piece this age. What is really love is how easy it is to actually use. The locket is hinged and just snaps shut securely, older lockets like this can require the use of fine pins and a lot of patience, but not this one! It is so so pretty, the pictures don’t do it justice, but I have tried!
