Oh my days…I am so in love with this piece! I consider myself very much an antique jewellery girl, then I fall hard for something like this, which is just SO VINTAGE. It is truly vintage at its best, superb quality, it just cannot be faulted. The opal is insanely colourful, flashes of red, pink, orange and green, there are no dead spots. Two gems I hate photographing are opal and pearl, as I find it near impossible to capture their beauty!
The design of the pendant is just fabulous, it’s a flaming heart, but the bale is the flame, so the entire pendant is a work of art in my opinion. The bale is very generous and will pretty much work with any chain at all, and the 14ct mount is generous with the gold, and beautifully made. Can you tell I’m a fan?! I noticed that the bale is hinged at the top, ad the part behind the pendant is pegged, but I can’t open and close it. Not sure what that’s for, but it’s another mark of how carefully this has been made.
