Enormous Victorian Silver Bolt Ring
Go big or go home right?! Corrrr I have NEVER seen anything like this, and neither had the dealer I bought it from (and he has been in this game a long time). It’s just amazing. A gorgeous giant bolt ring, in perfect working order, but WHY IS IT SO BIG?! My first thought was that it was an apprentice piece, a bit like at the end of Bake Off, to show off some mad skills. But, it has been worn, it has been used! It is covered in little scratches and tiny marks which give it the most desirable patina (GOD forbid this is ever polished). My next thought was maybe a Mayor owned it, and it was part ‘of a Mayor’s ‘civic regalia’ (thanks Google). We will never know for sure, but I can tell you it is truly what the word EPIC should be reserved for.
I’ve shown it worn as a stand alone pendant (it got my albert chain through, dog clip and all, with ease), but you would do anything with it! Hang your keys, use as an extender for your fattest chains, but get building with it. I’ve included all measurements so you can figure things out.
It’s a beautiful piece of work, fully hallmarked with pride, as it should be. How will you wear it?!
