Edwardian 9ct Gold Photograph Locket
I love, love, love these lockets, and have become rather selective about buying them. This one is a goody; fully hallmarked, it is a generous size, and in superb condition (helps that it was fantastic quality to start with). I call them photograph lockets, but you can put whatever you like inside. I’ve popped a feather in, because I think it’s pretty, but a lock of hair, scrap of material, fur from your fur baby, it’s up to you.
The mechanism, like all great ideas, is simple. You unscrew the bale, and the frame comes apart, revealing the two bevelled glass plates, between which you slide your precious memento. As always it is up the buyer to keep the original photographs (they are rather lovely in this one!) or not.
