Vintage 18ct Gold Lapis Lazuli Cabochon Ring
Ooof what a colour! And those freckles of pyrite? To die for. Definitely the best piece of lapis I have ever had. So intense. And of course complimented to perfection by the buttery 18ct yellow gold mount, so good.
The mount is simple and elegant, it only elevates the beautiful stone it holds. I really don’t know how old this ring is, it could be 100 years old, it could be 40, but I do know it’s beautifully made, and looks fantastic.
It’s got Arts & Crafts vibes, Ancient Egyptian vibes, but also groovy 70s vibes, so I’m thinking it’s a crowd pleaser! It is a magical piece of jewellery, and that stone will make you gasp. In a good way.
Era
Who knows? Definitely not new.
Material
18ct yellow gold (XRF tested)
Size/Measurements
O (UK) 7.25 (US) can be sized. The head measures 15 × 10mm. The band is 2.2mm wide
Weight
5 grams
Condition
Very good. A few little marks on the mount commensurate with age, and the lapis is a little abraded, so that it’s more matte than shiny. If you would like it buffed up I can have this done for no charge.
